It was tough at first following the hard fought loss for the championship just minutes prior, but nothing a good italian dish and beer couldn't help. Pizza to Lazana, to traditional spagetti dishes and calzone was on tap for the night. Dave Young supplied the first round of brews and a somber evening at first ended up becoming okay.

Here are the 2007 Player Awards for the Anaheim Ice Kings.

Justin Goodey
Justin showed consistant play and excellance throughout the duration of the regular season. He also showed that he can be turned to in key situations too, becoming a force on special teams. His good season last year gave him the nod for Defenceman of the year, and again this year in a 1 vote difference.

Go to Player of the Year:
Kevin Costello
Kevin could be looked at as the one the team looks too to go out and get something started. When the team is down and behind. a big play is in dire need, and Kevin could be the one that the team looks too. When the Kings are looking for that big goal, he comes to mind. His play was spread out on both ends of the ice, from game 1 all the way to game #21. His point production was impressive, topping previous marks, yet his position gave him the role of keeping defense in mind as well. He Scored over 40 points this year, and netting 20 goals and 21 assists.

MVP, Winner of the MVP Cup
Paul Costello
The Player choice awards and the awarding of the MVP go back to 2001, where Paul Costello and Marty Hoesli both had spectaular performaces leading the team two their second ever championship title. In 2002 the creation of the MVP cup acknowledge the MVP winner with their name placed in history on the cup, and holding the trophy over the course of the following season. In 2001-2002 it was Gary Miller; then 2003-2004 Henry Maixner; 2004-2005 it was Mike Goodey; last season, returning the cup is Jared Anderson. This season, there really is no argument or suprize on who earned this accomplishment. Paul showed his skill every game he played, and made goals look easy. He made every pass with flow and purity. But it wasn't easy netting the goals he did this season, it was hard work that was paying off. Argubily this player is in the best shape he's been since being a young lad, and his speed on the ice matches the fastest players in the league. Setting an all time record in point production, Paul was 1 point short of 50, leading the Kings with 25 goals and 24 assists. He netted 3 hat tricks, which really were 3 back to back to back 4 goal games. He led the way with 3 powerplay goals and a team high 4 game winning goals. During the season, he stayed pace with the top point producers in the league in which he finished 4th in the league, and held the assist lead league wide for the majority of the season. He produced a point in every game this season, setting a record for his 19 game winning streak.

The Players also honored the accomplishments of captain Paul Costello. This season defentily is a season to remember, especially for one player in particular. This season, two milestones were made in the career of Paul Costello. In the middle of a back to back to back four goal performance, and on his 270th career game, Paul hit the 200 goal plateau, more than any Anaheim Ice King player. 3 games later, he hit another accomplishment, netting his 400th point as a king. His point production over the first 400 points averages nearly a point and a half a game. With these 2 accomplishments, the Anaheim Ice Kings presented an autographed poster, reflecting the 2006-2007 team that cheered you on this season. Congratulations to the captain Paul Costello, and the rest of the 2006-2007 Anaheim Ice Kings.
