January 28, 2018- One week until the annual White vs. Black Kings Classic, the two captains squared off against each other, looking over their potential picks and finally made their selections in the 2018 Player Fantasy Draft. In commemoration of the 20th Year Anniversary Celebration, the only two captains in Anaheim Ice Kings history would be the only logical choice for this years edition. The first captain, Paul Costello versus the current captain, Mike Brewster.
A little tone down as in the past, this years draft was much like the year prior inviting the players to be present and streamed via Facebook Live, in lieu of a straight broadcast. The draft party, coming from the home of Paul and Jackie Costello, would get underway immediately following the NHL All-Star game. And with Brewster's player picks overwhelmingly defeating Costello's in the NHL All-Star game, he would win honors and keep his number 1 overall pick. Brewster would go on and select, in his Hanson Bro's jersey and all, Ryan Cordes as the 2018 Number 1 Pick.
Below is a look at the rosters for the event. It was also announced that the White vs. Black Kings classic would now be the Silver and Black Classic, as Team White will debut their new Silver jerseys. Following the draft coverage, the two sides made an agreement on a trade, when Team Black sent Jordan Esswein to team Silver for Tracy Lytle. This ensured Lytle would be paired with his long time D partner Justin Goodey, and Jordan would be on the same side as his brother Tyler.

Below is a recap of the 2018 Player Fantasy Draft, in case you missed the Live broadcast, or would like to watch again. Note there is a 5 minute delay you need to forward before the broadcast begins.
